Special Life Network’s “Walk, Run and Roll” - 2017 is a special needs integration walk and festival designed to build awareness, highlight abilities, and promote integration of individuals with special needs. Everyone is invited! Whether you have a special need or want to support those that do, you will experience the excitement of interactive learning activities and games that are adapted so everyone can participate.
“Walk” participants will enjoy camaraderie and friendly competition as we mobilize along a 1.5K scenic path, wide enough for everyone from the weekend walker to the child that runs ahead, the individual in a wheelchair or the seasoned runner. Cost to participate in the “WALK” portion is $15 and WALK participants who register for the WALK by 5:00PM on September 28th will receive a free event t-shirt. T-shirt is only for WALK participants, and is not included after the deadline.
A free fun festival starts after the walk, full of food, exciting games, educational activities, and entertainment. The event is about having fun together, whatever your abilities. We will also have a silent auction, full of incredible items donated by local community businesses and individuals!
We will be highlighting abilities from the stage. Currently, from the stage, we will have performances from The Woodlands United Methodist Church Resound Choir, Let them Drum’s interactive drum circle, One of the Special Needs Choirs from Home Place of Texas, and the Down Syndrome Association of Houston’s Pantomime Troupe!
